Ian's helping out with the dishes from my birthday lunch. This was all him- he pushed the chair over, turned on the water, and stacked the dishes up in the sink.

Ian also offered his toy bucket loader to the guy working on the mulch pile... love it! (How many hours do you think it would take a 2" bucket to move that mulch pile?)

Playing Design on a Dime: Bathrooms under $75
My hallway bathroom has featured some worn and outdated finishes and some less than thrilling details since we moved here two years ago... for instance, although all the fixtures are chrome, the accessories were shiny brass. (WHY?) Also, the advent of liquid soap dispensers and "ergonomic" toothbrush handles have made soap dishes and toothbrush holders obsolete. Check out my reduce, reuse, recycle approach to a bathroom makeover:

I... I throw wood there!
Friday afternoon Ian and I headed over to Rama and Raba's for a while. He had a great time running all over the yard, laughing, and climbing the hill. My favorite moment was when he picked up a handfull of mulch, tossed it into the flower bed, and said, "I... I throw wood there!" That's right little man. Good use of the first person pronoun.

Happy Spring
As you can see, my little man is getting pretty big. He's loving the fact that we can get out more now that the weather is nicer. He's also started using conjunctions (Nico AND Raba!). Recent new words have included "Zebra" and "chocolate." (Good thing he got that last one, it'll take him far.) He is also managing somehow to grasp his ABCs and 1,2,3s- I say "somehow" because we've made no concerted effort to teach them to him. He's frighteningly clever, delightfully happy, and gives the best hugs and kisses ever. Hope spring is bringing you only the best.
